The International Space Exploration Education Professional Development Program
This program offers Educators, Teachers, Managers and Partnership Professionals a unique
opportunity to enhance their approach to teaching science, technology, engineering and maths
(STEM). The program is designed and delivered in partnership with the International Space
Community and demonstrates the benefits of using space exploration in an educational context for
all grades and levels. The program will take place from 16th - 21st January 2011 in Houston Texas, USA.
 The Aims - To demonstrate how space exploration can be used to inspire and motivate young people across the world.
- To develop the skills and knowledge of key professionals to enable them to use space exploration to enhance their approach to teaching STEM and related areas.
- To inspire key professionals to promote the benefits of space exploration to education in their countries.
- To bring together key educators and managers from across the world to learn in partnership with each other and the International Space Community
 The partners The program has been developed by the International Partnership Network in partnership with the SSS Foundation (USA), based in Houston, and the IPN'S member countries. The IPN will be responsible for recruitment, fee collection and all communication with participants.
The SSS Foundation (USA) will be responsible for all logistical arrangements in Houston as well as all security and access requirements.
 The Program The program will consist of 5 days (6 nights) of unique and inspirational activity including; - 2 day workshops with NASA personnel involved in curriculum development
- 1 day experiencing real learning space activity at the Challenger Center and an evening star gazing at the
- Observatory
- 2 days taking part in a specially designed professional development program delivered by Space Center Houston's education and outreach team
In addition there will be:
- A tour of Space Center Houston
- A private tour of the Johnson Space Center
- Evening events, offering the opportunity to meet and mingle with astronauts, scientists and engineers from NASA
- Support in accessing all of NASA's curriculum support material.
Cost $2,100 US dollars (IPN Members) $2,300 US dollars (Non- members) Accompanying person program available subject to demand and at additional cost. Information available on request.
